On a weekend trip to Utah, I visited Arches National Park a couple of evenings to shoot the stars. Timing was perfect, with no moon, and the weather cooperated as well. This shot is of Balanced Rock, with the Milky Way rising out of the low cloud bank behind. The additional light on the rock comes from a flashlight "painted" on the rocks during the long exposure.

I'm proud to say that several of my photos are featured in a new book that's been published by CCT Advertising for the Wyoming Department of Transportation. The book chronicles the 8-year Togwotee Trail to Yellowstone project, which promoted one of the state's most scenic roadways.

It's official. I was able to kick off the ski season this morning with a little backcountry hike up on Berthoud Pass. Not a ton of snow, but enough to have fun making turns with friend Mark Obmasick.
I had the opportunity to tag along with talented Colorado photographer Ken Redding, in the beautiful vineyards of Grand Junction.
